Revenue seize contraband worth over β¬458,300 in operations across Dublin, Midlands, Shannon Airport and Rosslare Europort
Herbal cannabis and illicit drug parcels from the US, UK, Netherlands, Canada, France and Thailand were intercepted, destined for addresses nationwide.
Revenue officers have seized contraband with an estimated value of over β¬458,300 following a series of operations across Dublin, the Midlands, Shannon Airport, and Rosslare Europort during the week commencing 16 March 2026.
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence-led operations. Seizures included 12.1kg of herbal cannabis valued at over β¬249,200, tobacco products valued at over β¬81,300, 600g of ketamine valued at over β¬48,000, and 117 counterfeit items valued at over β¬47,400. Also seized were 150g of cocaine valued at over β¬15,000, over 408 litres of alcohol valued at over β¬4,935, and various other illicit drugs valued at over β¬12,000.

The largest single seizure was 10.5kg of herbal cannabis at Shannon Airport, with an estimated value of β¬210,000, made following routine risk profiling with the assistance of detector dog Brody.
At Dublin Port, over 29,000 cigarettes were intercepted following routine risk profiling with the assistance of detector dog Milo. The cigarettes, branded 'John Player Blue', 'Silk Cut Purple' and 'Superkings Original Black', were discovered in a vehicle that had travelled from Holyhead to Dublin, and carry an estimated value of over β¬27,600, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over β¬21,700.
The herbal cannabis and illicit drug parcels originated from the US, the UK, the Netherlands, Canada, France, and Thailand, and were destined for various addresses nationwide. The alcohol seized consisted of wine, beer, spirits, and unidentified unlabelled alcohol.

The 117 counterfeit items were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights. One weapon accessory, a machete, was also seized.
