Racing Home for Easter: Traffic Advisory for Cork Racecourse Mallow This Weekend
Racing at Cork Racecourse Mallow and hurling finals in Limerick mean a busy weekend on the N20 and N72. Allow extra time for your journeys.
An Garda Síochána Cork is advising motorists to allow extra time on the N20 and N72 this Easter weekend, as the Racing Home for Easter Festival gets underway at Cork Racecourse Mallow.
The three-day festival runs from Saturday 4 April to Monday 6 April 2026. Gates open at 12:50pm today, with the first race at 2:20pm and the last race at 5:45pm. On Sunday and Monday, gates open at 11:45am, with racing from 1:15pm; the last race on Sunday is at 5:15pm, and at 5:20pm on Monday.
Gardaí are also flagging additional congestion on Sunday, as the few lucky ticket holders travelling to Limerick for the Allianz Hurling League Finals join racegoers on the same routes. Cork face Limerick in the Roinn 1A Final at 4:00pm, while Clare take on Dublin in the Roinn 1B Final at 1:45pm, both at TUS Gaelic Grounds.
An Garda Síochána Cork urged motorists to:
"Allow extra time for your journeys and follow the directions of the stewards and Gardaí along these routes," and wished the public "a safe and enjoyable Easter weekend."
