A

batch of PUREPOWER Nutrition Chicken Chow Mein is being recalled after the product was found to contain an entirely different meal, posing a potential risk to consumers with allergies or dietary restrictions.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) issued the recall today, 9 January 2026, after discovering that packs labelled as Chicken Chow Mein were in fact mispacked with PUREPOWER Nutrition Chicken & Chorizo Paella.

As a result, all labelling on the affected batch is incorrect, meaning allergen information, ingredients, and nutritional details do not reflect the actual contents.

The recall affects 400g packs with a use by date of 15 January 2026.

Retailers have been asked to remove the implicated batch from sale and display recall notices at point of sale.

What consumers should do

Consumers who have purchased this product are advised not to eat it. Those with concerns, particularly regarding allergens or dietary requirements, should return the product to the place of purchase.

The presence of chorizo means the product contains pork, which may be unsuitable for consumers following halal, kosher, or pork-free diets, in addition to any undeclared allergens that may be present in the paella product.
