Public Consultation on Blackpool Village Core Plans This Saturday
Public consultation on Blackpool Village Core regeneration plans takes place this Saturday, 9 May, 11:30am to 2:30pm at the Community Centre.
Cork City Council, working in partnership with John McLaughlin Architects and the Blackpool Village Team, is developing an ambitious concept design for the Blackpool Village Core Area. The project aims to benefit residents, cultural institutions, businesses, visitors, and the wider community.
A public consultation event will take place on Saturday, 9 May 2026, from 11:30am to 2:30pm at Blackpool Community Centre, 90 Great William O'Brien Street, Blackpool. The Draft Strategy will be on public display on the day, with members of the project team available to answer questions.
The Draft Strategy has been informed from the outset by engagement with key community stakeholders. It outlines several proposed interventions focussed around the village core, designed to enable positive regenerative impact for the Blackpool community.
The project team is eager to receive feedback on the draft design from the people of Blackpool, and welcomes input from anyone with an interest in the area. All are welcome to attend the consultation event.
Submissions can be made on the day in person, or through the Cork City Council Consultation Portal from Friday 8 to Friday 15 May 2026.
