West Cork's Warren and Inchydoney beaches at full capacity today. Gardaí suggest exploring other Costa del Cork alternatives for your sunny afternoon out.

Gardaí advise beachgoers to seek alternative coastal spots as Warren and Inchydoney car parks reach full capacity
Two of West Cork's most popular beaches have reached capacity this afternoon, with Gardaí advising sun-seekers to explore alternative coastal destinations along what they're calling the "Costa del Cork".
Warren Beach near Rosscarbery and Inchydoney Beach near Clonakilty have both seen their car parks fill to capacity, with no further safe vehicle access available to either location.
Gardaí in West Cork:
"The car parks at Warren Beach near Rosscarbery and Inchydoney Beach near Clonakilty are now full and there is no further safe access available. Please consider one of the other many stretches of golden sand we have along the Costa del Cork this afternoon."
The capacity issues highlight the continuing popularity of West Cork's coastline during fine weather, with both beaches drawing visitors from across the region. Warren Beach, situated near the picturesque village of Rosscarbery, and Inchydoney Beach, renowned for its expansive sandy shores near Clonakilty, regularly attract large crowds during sunny weekends.
Gardaí are reminding visitors to park responsibly at all coastal locations, emphasising the importance of maintaining emergency vehicle access and respecting designated disabled parking spaces.
Gardaí in West Cork:
"Always remember to park legally at popular amenities and beaches – you must leave emergency access and don't occupy a disabled parking bay without a permit. Stay safe, stay hydrated and wear plenty of sun cream!"
Alternative beaches along the West Cork coast include Barleycove, Owenahincha, Red Strand, and numerous smaller coves and beaches between Kinsale and the Beara Peninsula.
