Parents in Cork Urged to Complete Hot School Meals Survey
Senator Eileen Lynch launches survey on Hot School Meals Programme, urging Cork parents and teachers to share their views.
Senator Eileen Lynch has launched a Fine Gael survey on the Hot School Meals Programme, inviting parents, teachers, and meal providers across Cork to share their views on the scheme.
The online survey, now live at finegael.ie/hotschoolmeals, aims to refine and improve the programme to ensure children continue to receive nutritious, high-quality meals.
Senator Eileen Lynch, Fine Gael Cork North-West, said:
"Fine Gael introduced the Hot School Meals Programme in Cork because we believe no child should be held back by hunger. This next phase is about refining and improving the programme, so it continues to support children's health and education."
The survey examines several key areas, including food waste, the suitability of centrally cooked meals versus on-site preparation, and whether current menus adequately accommodate allergies or plain eating habits. Participants are also invited to suggest improvements to the programme.
Senator Lynch explained that feedback gathered will be shared with Government colleagues and used to inform the next phase of the Hot School Meals Programme. She noted the initiative has already received strong engagement from families and schools, with thousands of comments highlighting its positive impact on children's health, wellbeing, and learning.
Senator Lynch concluded:
"The Hot School Meals Programme has already transformed the school day for thousands of children in Cork. This survey will ensure we take the next steps to make it even better and ensure it remains a strong support in the future."
The survey is open to all parents, guardians, teachers, and meal providers involved with the programme.
