OPW Approves €49,899 Flood Protection Funding for Rathcormac

Cork County Council has secured nearly €50,000 in government funding to tackle flooding concerns in Rathcormac through essential watercourse maintenance work on the Kilbrien stream.

The Office of Public Works (OPW) has approved Cork County Council's application for €49,899 under the Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme. The funding will support planned watercourse clearance works at Rathcormac, focusing on removing silt, debris and vegetation from the attenuation area of the Kilbrien stream.

This latest approval continues Cork County Council's successful track record with the scheme, which has seen 61 funding applications supported since the programme's introduction in 2009.
