North Main Street, Kyle Street and Castle Street in Cork city centre are closed today, Saturday 22 August 2026, Cork City Council has confirmed.

North Main Street is closed between its junctions with Castle Street and Adelaide Street from 8am to 7.30pm. Kyle Street and Castle Street are also closed for the same period.

The closures are in place to accommodate the North Main Street Carnival. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and plan an alternative route.

No diversion route or detailed access arrangements had been published by the council at the time of writing.
