Nearly 7,000 Neighbours Take Part in Cork County Street Feast 2026
Nearly 7,000 neighbours joined 75 Street Feast events across Cork County in May, Cork County Council has confirmed.
Communities across Cork County came together to celebrate friendship and local connection, as 75 Street Feast events brought an estimated 6,975 neighbours together on 23 and 24 May 2026.
Cork County Council has welcomed the success of Street Feast 2026, Ireland's national day of neighbourhood parties and community gatherings. Organised by Neighbourhood Network, the initiative encourages neighbours to connect over food and conversation, helping to build stronger, more inclusive communities.
Events were held in towns, villages and neighbourhoods throughout the county, including Crosshaven, Fermoy, Rathcormac, Cloyne, Glanworth, Midleton and Cloughduv, with residents sharing meals, meeting new neighbours and strengthening local ties.
Cllr. Bernard Moynihan, Mayor of the County of Cork, said:
"Street Feast continues to demonstrate the strength of community spirit across Cork County. These events provide a simple but powerful opportunity for people to come together, make new connections and foster a greater sense of belonging in their local areas. I congratulate everyone who organised and participated in a Street Feast this year and thank them for helping to build stronger and more welcoming communities."
Cork County Council worked alongside Neighbourhood Network and community groups to promote Street Feast and support residents interested in hosting events in their towns and villages. Street Feast has grown significantly since its launch in 2010 and remains an important initiative for promoting connection, inclusion and community wellbeing.
Street Feast will return on 29 and 30 May 2027.
