Motorists using the N40 westbound at Junction 3 should expect significant disruptions this week as night-time roadworks continue until Friday, 5 September, with slip roads closed and partial restrictions at the Bandon Road Roundabout between 20:30 and 05:30 each night.

The ongoing works affect the N40 Junction 3 westbound on and off slips, which remain closed during the specified hours. Additionally, the Bandon Road Roundabout is experiencing partial closures as part of the resurfacing programme.

Local diversions are in place to manage traffic flow during the closure periods. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and consider alternative routes where possible, particularly those travelling during the late evening and early morning hours.

In positive news for commuters, the N40 Junction 3 eastbound resurfacing works have been completed, removing previous restrictions on that section of the busy Cork ring road.

The nightly closures, which run from 20:30 to 05:30, will continue for five more nights, concluding on the morning of Friday, 5 September. Transport Infrastructure Ireland and Cork County Council are urging all road users to plan their journeys in advance to avoid unnecessary delays.

Those regularly using this route during the affected hours should familiarise themselves with the posted diversion routes and consider adjusting their travel times where possible to minimise disruption.
