N20 to Close Daily Between New Twopothouse and Lisballyhay Junction for Three Weeks

Cork County Council has announced a temporary daytime closure of the N20 between New Twopothouse (N20/R581 Junction) and Lisballyhay Junction (N20/L-1328-0) to allow essential road improvement works to proceed.
The closure will run from Tuesday, 29 September 2026 to Friday, 16 October 2026, daytime only, Monday to Friday, between 08:00 and 20:00.
The works are required to strengthen and resurface the road at the Ballybeg bends, and are intended to protect the safety of road workers and the travelling public during construction.
A signed diversion route will be in place via Doneraile for the duration of the closure, with all diversion routes clearly signposted. Advance notice will also be given through Variable Message Signs on approaches to the affected area.
Emergency services, bus services and local traffic will be accommodated through the roadworks site at all times.
Cork County Council is advising motorists to allow additional travel time and to follow all temporary traffic management measures and diversion signage in the interests of safety. The Council has apologised for any inconvenience caused and thanked road users for their patience and cooperation while the works are carried out.
