Multi-Vehicle Collision Causes Delays on N40 Eastbound
Motorists are experiencing minor delays on the N40 eastbound this evening following a multi-vehicle collision between the Kinsale Road and South Douglas junctions.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) reported the incident at 20:26 on Monday, 6 October 2025. The collision occurred on the eastbound carriageway between Junction 6 (N27 Kinsale Road) and Junction 7 (South Douglas).
TII has advised drivers approaching the area to reduce their speed and proceed with caution. Minor delays are expected as emergency services attend the scene.
The N40, South Ring Road, is one of the busiest routes in Cork, connecting major arterial roads including the N27, N22, N20, and N25. Evening traffic through this section is typically heavy as commuters travel through Douglas and towards the city centre.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and consider alternative routes if possible.
