Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange thunderstorm warning for Cork, valid from 14:00 to 16:00 on Wednesday, 27 May 2026. The warning was issued at 13:45 and updated at 13:51.

Widespread thunderstorms are moving up from the south today, with the potential for severe lightning and hail damage. Met Éireann also warns of slippy roads, impaired visibility, and spot flooding.

A Status Yellow thunderstorm warning also remains in place for Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Waterford, and Wexford from 14:00 to 19:00. That warning warns of scattered thunderstorms, with the potential for lightning and hail damage, as well as slippy roads and impaired visibility where showers hit.
