Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow thunderstorm warning for Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Waterford, and Wexford, with scattered thunderstorms moving up from the south. The warning is valid from 14:00 to 19:00 on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.

The forecaster warns of the potential for lightning and hail damage during the warning period. Motorists should also be aware of slippery roads and impaired visibility in areas where showers hit.

The warning was issued at 13:19 today. People are advised to take care when travelling this afternoon and evening.
