Met Éireann has extended a Status Red Marine Storm Warning to include the coast from Mizen Head to Slyne Head to Malin Head, with violent storm force 11 winds expected in coastal waters on Tuesday.
The national weather service upgraded the marine warning on Monday evening, with the red alert now covering Cork's coastline. South to southwest winds will occasionally reach violent storm force 11 in these coastal waters.
The Status Red Marine Storm Warning is valid from 09:00 to 23:30 on Tuesday, 9 December 2025.
Met Éireann warns that stronger gusts are expected along these coasts, with conditions at sea becoming extremely dangerous during the warning period.
