Mercy University Hospital Cork has closed to visitors with immediate effect due to Infection Prevention and Control reasons.
The hospital says visiting on compassionate grounds and in particular circumstances to support patients can be arranged directly through the Ward Clinical Nurse Manager.
Members of the public are asked not to visit the hospital if they have a cough, are experiencing vomiting, diarrhoea, or feel unwell in any way. Staff guidance on hand hygiene and the use of PPE should be followed at all times.
The visiting restrictions will be reviewed in 48 hours.
