Man Charged in Connection with Fatal Cork City Assault to Appear in Court Today
Man charged in connection with fatal Cork city assault due before Cork District Court today. Investigations ongoing.
A man in his 40s is due to appear before Cork District Court this afternoon after being charged in connection with the fatal assault that occurred in Cork city earlier this week.
Gardaí have confirmed that the man, who was arrested in connection with the incident, has since been charged and is scheduled to appear before Cork District Court on Thursday 19th March 2026.
The fatal assault took place on Lower John Street, Knapp's Square, and Devonshire Street in Cork city on the evening of Monday 16th March 2026.
The man had been detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Cork City following his arrest. Investigations remain ongoing.
