Motorists are being advised to plan ahead this weekend as two major events are set to generate significant traffic volumes across the county.

The Mallow Home and Garden Festival takes place at Cork Racecourse Mallow from 22 to 24 May 2026, with An Garda Síochána anticipating high volumes of traffic in the area throughout the three days.

Adding to the pressure on Sunday, Cork face Clare at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in the Munster Hurling Championship at 4pm, with match traffic expected to compound the busy conditions already created by the festival.

A high-visibility Garda presence will be in place to assist with traffic movement across both events. Patrons attending either event are asked to allow sufficient travel time and to follow all Garda and steward directions.
