Mallow 10 Mile Road Race to Bring Local Diversions This Sunday

Motorists travelling through Mallow this Sunday are being advised to expect delays and local diversions as the town hosts its annual 10 mile road race.

An Garda Síochána Cork confirmed the Mallow 10 Mile road race will take place on Sunday, 22 March 2026, starting from Mallow Castle at 10:30am. Local diversions will be in place along the route, and motorists are asked to allow extra time for journeys and follow the directions of stewards and Gardaí.

The race route, which starts and finishes at Mallow Castle, takes runners on a loop through the surrounding area, passing through Goulds Hill, Gortacurrig, Quartertown Industrial Estate, Kilvealaton, Newberry Industrial Estate, past Cork Racecourse, and through Ardnageehy before returning to town.

Participants and spectators are asked to park safely and responsibly during their visit to what Gardaí fondly described as "the crossroads of Munster."

Anyone planning to travel through Mallow or along the N20 corridor on Sunday morning should factor in additional journey time, particularly between 10:00am and early afternoon.
