Major Water Outage Affects Charleville and Surrounding Areas
Repairs expected by 3pm Thursday. Traffic management on N72.

Uisce Éireann crews are working to repair a major burst water main in Charleville today, leaving customers across several North Cork areas without water supply.
The burst has resulted in water outages affecting customers in Charleville, Buttevant, Ballyhea, Rathgorman and surrounding areas. Uisce Éireann has confirmed that repairs are expected to be completed by 3pm tomorrow, Thursday 02 October.
Michael Bell, Uisce Éireann, said:
"We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while our works continue. Every effort is being made to restore a full water supply as quickly as possible."
Following completion of the repairs, it typically takes two to three hours for normal water supply to return to all affected customers. However, those at the end of the network or on higher ground may experience longer delays as the system recharges.
To facilitate safe working conditions for repair crews and ensure public safety, traffic management measures are in place on the N72. The works are clearly signposted in the area.
Customers can monitor the situation through the Supply and Service section of water.ie using outage reference COR00099826. Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
