Major Seizure of Firearms, Cocaine and Ammunition in Mallow Leads to Arrest
Man in his 40s arrested after Gardaí seize three firearms, ammunition and cocaine following vehicle search in Mallow on Tuesday night.
Gardaí have arrested a man in his 40s following the discovery of three suspected firearms, ammunition and cocaine during a vehicle search in Mallow on Tuesday night.
Officers observed a vehicle acting suspiciously at Lisanisky, Mallow, Co. Cork, on the evening of 4th November 2025. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the significant seizure.
The man was arrested at the scene and conveyed to a Garda station in Co. Cork, where he is currently being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.
Follow-up searches are being conducted at a domestic residence in Cork city today, Wednesday 5th November 2025. The Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit attended the scene as part of the operation.
The discovery represents a substantial find for Gardaí, with both firearms and controlled substances removed from circulation in north Cork.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
