Major Investment as Applegreen Brings Taco Bell, M&S Food to Ballincollig
Applegreen opens refurbished Ballincollig store tomorrow with Taco Bell, M&S Food and Crafted Kitchen & Deli as part of €50m Irish investment.
Applegreen's significantly refurbished Ballincollig service station will open tomorrow with three new food offerings as part of the company's €50 million investment in the Irish market this year, creating additional employment opportunities in Cork.
The US-based Taco Bell brand will open its third Irish restaurant at the Ballincollig location tomorrow morning, Tuesday 9 December, alongside a new M&S Food shop-in-shop and Crafted Kitchen & Deli operation.
Taco Bell's Ballincollig menu will feature crispy chicken burritos, beef burritos, the Crunchwrap Supreme, quesadillas, and seasoned fries. The restaurant will open from 10am.
Seamus Stapleton, Managing Director of Applegreen's Republic of Ireland business, said:
"We're really excited to be bringing Taco Bell to Ballincollig, and to County Cork. Applegreen's first two Irish Taco Bell restaurants have been hugely popular with customers, and we are delighted to be further expanding our partnership with this new outlet in Ballincollig."
The Ballincollig refurbishment forms part of Applegreen's broader expansion strategy, with the company investing almost €300 million globally this year.
Mr Stapleton added:
"We are continually investing to upgrade existing locations and to add new sites to our business in Ireland. By partnering with leading brands such as Taco Bell and Marks & Spencer, as well as enhancing our own brand through our new Crafted Kitchen & Deli, we are offering an even better experience for customers that use our Ballincollig store."
The new M&S Food outlet will stock more than 400 products, including fresh flowers, lunch and dinner options, sandwiches, fresh fruit and salads, plus M&S favourites like Colin the Caterpillar cakes and Percy Pig sweets. A Click & Collect service for M&S Clothing and selected Home products will also be available.
Applegreen currently operates 35 M&S Food shop-in-shop outlets across Ireland with plans to expand to more than 60 outlets in the medium term. The company plans to add further Taco Bell outlets to its Irish portfolio next year.
The retail hospitality brand, which opened its first service station in Ballyfermot in 1992, now operates almost 200 locations in Ireland and more than 435 locations globally. Applegreen currently employs about 16,900 people across the Group and had a turnover of €3.8 billion last year.
