Major €2.3 Million Upgrade for Millstreet Station Car Park Set to Begin
Millstreet Station Car Park set for €2.3m upgrade: 46 new spaces, EV charging, bike shelter and bus interchange. Works begin this month, due Spring 2027.
Iarnród Éireann has confirmed that work on a significant upgrade to Millstreet Station Car Park is set to commence this month, with completion planned by Spring 2027.
The project will more than triple existing parking capacity at the station, adding 46 spaces in total. This includes five disability parking spots and infrastructure to support seven electric vehicle charging spots.
The upgrade will also deliver ten bicycle parking spaces with a bike shelter, along with a new bus set down and interchange facility.
Kenaidan Contractors Ltd has been awarded the €2.3 million construction contract for the works, following planning approval in late 2025 and completion of the procurement process in recent months.
The Millstreet upgrade forms part of Iarnród Éireann's national Car Park expansion programme, funded by the Department of Transport through the National Transport Authority. The programme is improving access on foot, by bike and by bus to stations across the network, and addressing capacity issues where applicable.
