Major Cork Road Infrastructure Works Underway as BAM Begins Active Construction Phase
Major Cork road works progress with BAM beginning active construction at Rochestown and Ringaskiddy locations, traffic management measures in place.

Construction giant BAM has moved into the active construction phase of a significant Cork road infrastructure project, with work now progressing simultaneously across multiple locations including Rochestown and Ringaskiddy.
The company has commenced earthworks excavations between Shannon Park and Carr's Hill, whilst ducting works are set to begin next week in the St Patrick's Church area of Rochestown. Localised traffic management will be implemented to facilitate these operations.

Tree felling works around St Patrick's Church are scheduled to commence in late July, following completion of the ducting phase. The N28 will experience off-peak lane restrictions designed to minimise disruption to commuters during this period.
Additional earthworks are expanding across the project area, with topsoil stripping set to begin between Barnahely and Raffeen within the coming week. BAM continues consultations with utility companies regarding any outstanding planned diversions of existing services.
Ringaskiddy Developments Progress
The Ringaskiddy Urban Realm improvements are showing substantial progress, with road resurfacing through the village scheduled to commence within the next fortnight. Footpaths and feature paving works are now largely complete, whilst newly installed street furniture is already transforming the public spaces.

Traffic signals remain operational in Ringaskiddy Village, though some parking spaces are temporarily unavailable. Cork County Council continues coordinating with Coffey Construction to maintain traffic flow, with two-way traffic preserved where possible.
The Ringaskiddy Relief Road has achieved several key milestones, with the Ringaskiddy Roundabout substantially complete and paving works ongoing. Tower Road has reopened to traffic following completion of works, whilst construction has begun on the new Barnahely Roundabout.

Old Post Office Road remains closed to facilitate construction of a new underpass, with utility diversions currently underway. Mainline earthworks and drainage operations continue between Old Post Office Road and Barnahely.
Residents with queries regarding the construction works can contact Des Gilsenan, Public Relations Officer for BAM, via email at m28queries@bam.com. A dedicated phone line will be available shortly.
