M28 Cork to Ringaskiddy: Works Progressing Well
Works are ongoing on the M28 Cork to Ringaskiddy project, with surfacing works and the R613 footway/cycleway both nearing completion.
Significant progress is being made on the M28 Cork to Ringaskiddy project, with several key milestones being reached across the route.
In Ringaskiddy, the main focus of works continues at Loughbeg and Ringport, where surfacing works at the tie-ins and within the business park are nearing completion. The brick paving of the roundabout central island is now 95% complete.
On the R613 in Barnahely, footway and cycleway works on the east side are also nearing completion. Once finished, that section will be opened to pedestrians and cyclists, with traffic management switching to the western edge of the road, either side of the Johnson & Johnson entrance.
When complete, the project will see over 60% fewer vehicles passing through Shanbally and Ringaskiddy, delivering cleaner, quieter villages and safer local roads. For the latest updates, visit m28.ie.
