An Garda Síochána Cork is appealing to the public to help reunite several lost items with their rightful owners after good Samaritans handed them in to city Garda stations.
The collection of personal belongings, now stored at Ballincollig Garda Station, includes valuable electronic devices and recreational items that were found by members of the public around Cork city.
Among the recovered items is a Canon PowerShot camera complete with its blue Lowepro protective case, suggesting someone may be missing precious photographs or professional equipment. A poker chip set in a black presentation case, containing numerous chips and playing cards, has also been handed in.
Two mobile phones are among the items waiting to be claimed, including what appears to be an iPhone with a distinctive sparkly protective case. Electronic equipment in a white presentation case and a multi-dial chronograph watch complete the collection of lost property.
The items demonstrate the honesty of Cork residents who took the time to bring found belongings to local Garda stations rather than leaving them where they were discovered.
Garda spokesperson:
"We're grateful to the members of the public who handed these items in and we're hopeful we can reunite them with their owners. Anyone who recognises these belongings should contact us immediately."
Anyone who believes they may be the owner of any of these items is asked to contact Ballincollig Garda Station at 021 4214680 with proof of ownership.
