Long Delays on N40 Following Multi-Vehicle Collision

Motorists are experiencing significant delays on the N40 South Ring Road this morning following a multi-vehicle collision in the eastbound lanes near the Mahon slip, between Bloomfield and Mahon.

Traffic is backed up from Carrs Hill to Shannonpark Roundabout, with tailbacks extending as far as Sarsfield Road on the N40. Emergency services are currently at the scene of the collision.

The incident has caused heavy disruption during the morning commute, with motorists heading towards the city centre from Douglas and Rochestown areas particularly affected by the delays.

Commuters and shoppers heading to Mahon Point are advised to consider alternative routes through Douglas or via the N28 to Bloomfield if possible. Local roads may offer faster passage whilst the N40 remains congested.
