Lady Mayoress Launches Coffee Morning Fundraiser for Marymount Hospice
Lady Mayoress launches coffee morning at City Hall on 30 October for Marymount Hospice, with free entry, donations welcome and plenty of cake.
Cork City Hall will host the annual Lady Mayoress' Coffee Morning on 30 October, raising vital funds for Marymount University Hospital and Hospice with an autumn-themed event featuring local bakeries and community support.
The Lady Mayoress of Cork, Karen Brennan, officially launched this year's fundraising coffee morning at Cork City Hall, surrounded by coffee pots, pumpkins and an array of cakes that offered a preview of the mid-term event to come.
The coffee morning, scheduled for Thursday, 30 October at Millennium Hall on Eglinton Street, will run from 10am to 12.30pm. Entry is free with donations encouraged, and all proceeds will support Marymount's specialist palliative care services across Cork city.
Karen Brennan, Lady Mayoress of Cork, said:
"As Lady Mayoress, I am deeply honoured to support Marymount Hospice. The care and comfort given here touch so many families in our community. Fundraising is essential to keep this wonderful work going, and every contribution truly makes a difference. Together, through generosity and kindness, we can ensure Marymount continues to be a place of dignity, compassion, and hope."
Businesses and community groups throughout Cork have pledged their support by donating cakes, scones, coffee and their time to the event. Attendees can expect a wide selection of treats, including gluten-free options from several well-known Cork bakeries.
The event is open to the public and community groups alike, welcoming anyone who appreciates good cake and a proper cup of coffee whilst supporting an important local cause.
Cork City Council and the Lady Mayoress have thanked all volunteers, donors and performers who are contributing to make the event possible. Businesses wishing to get involved can still donate cakes, scones, pastries and other baked goods by calling 021 4924364.
The funds raised will help Marymount continue providing essential palliative care services that support families across Cork during some of their most difficult times.
