Jack Lynch Tunnel to Close Overnight this Week for Scheduled Works
Jack Lynch Tunnel closed overnight Tue, Wed, Thu this week (9pm-4am).
Motorists using the Jack Lynch Tunnel are advised to plan alternative routes this week as the tunnel will be fully closed for three consecutive nights.
The N40 tunnel, which carries traffic beneath the River Lee, will close in both directions from 9pm to 4am on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights.
The scheduled closures are as follows:
- Tuesday 6th January: 21:00 to 04:00, full tunnel closure
- Wednesday 7th January: 21:00 to 04:00, full tunnel closure
- Thursday 8th January: 21:00 to 04:00, full tunnel closure
Drivers travelling between the north and south sides of Cork city during these hours should use alternative routes via the city centre.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland advises motorists to allow extra time for journeys during the closure periods.
