Fire at Douglas Village Shopping Centre Car Park
Car fire reported in the car park. Fire under control, no injuries reported.

Emergency services attended Douglas Village Shopping Centre this afternoon following reports of a fire in the centre’s car park.
Units of Cork City Fire Brigade and Gardaí responded to the scene shortly after 14:00, with the shopping centre evacuated as a precaution while crews brought the fire under control. The affected area of the car park was closed to the public during operations.
A source for the National Ambulance Service confirmed they were alerted to an incident at the centre shortly after 14:12, relating to smoke inhalation and breathing difficulties. No serious injuries have been reported.
Firefighters quickly contained the blaze, which is believed to have originated from a single vehicle. The scene has since been made safe, and investigations into the cause of the fire are expected to follow.
This afternoon’s incident comes just six years after a major 2019 fire in the same car park caused significant structural damage to the complex, leading to months of repair work.
