With Cork's St. Patrick's Day Parade just two days away, Iarnród Éireann has confirmed revised timetables and additional services across its network for Tuesday, 17 March 2026, and is strongly advising passengers to book intercity travel in advance.

Cork commuter services will operate on a Sunday timetable, with some additional services running. Extra DART and commuter trains will also be added before and after the Dublin parade to help manage demand.

For those travelling into Cork City for the parade, which kicks off at 1pm along a central city route with over 3,000 participants under the theme 'Marsh, Myth and Magic', rail is being positioned as the stress-free alternative to navigating road closures and traffic diversions.

Low fares are available on the Cork commuter network, with Fota to Cork from €2.20, Midleton to Cork from €3.45, and Mallow to Cork from €4.40.

Passengers are reminded that alcohol is not permitted on board any Iarnród Éireann service, and bikes must be booked online in advance for all InterCity journeys.

In Dublin, Tara Street Station will remain closed until 16:00; passengers should use Dublin Connolly or Dublin Pearse instead.
