Historic Clancy's Cork Unveils €500,000 Transformation with Four New Experiences
Clancy's Cork reopens with 4 floors of craic: Guinness experience, rooftop bar, restaurant & cocktails after €500k revamp.

One of Cork's most beloved pubs has reopened its doors after an ambitious €500,000 refurbishment, transforming the historic Princes Street venue into a four-storey destination that promises to redefine the city's hospitality scene.
Clancy's Cork officially launched yesterday evening, revealing four distinct experiences under one roof: Arthur's Bar @ Clancy's, a unique Guinness experience developed with Diageo; 1824 @ Clancy's, a first-floor restaurant; a premium Cocktail Lab; and Sky Bar @ Clancy's, a rooftop party venue with panoramic city views.

The ground-floor Arthur's Bar has already captured attention with its innovative Guinness offerings. Developed in partnership with Diageo, the space lets visitors pour their own perfect pint, sample tasting flights, and even print their image on a pint's head using a 'Stoutie' machine. The bar features Guinness memorabilia and original artwork celebrating the brand's century-long connection with the pub.
Upstairs, 1824 @ Clancy's marks the venue's first dedicated restaurant space, named after the year the pub first opened. The restaurant showcases contemporary Irish cuisine in a setting that highlights the building's Georgian architecture, with exposed brick walls and warm wood finishes. The menu features premium dishes including scallops, feather blade of beef, surf and turf, and traditional bacon and cabbage. Daily breakfast, brunch and lunch offerings include Full Irish breakfasts, seafood chowder, and hearty Guinness stew.
The Cocktail Lab on the ground floor serves inventive pre-dinner aperitifs and house infusions crafted with seasonal ingredients, whilst the Sky Bar crowns the building with a vibrant rooftop space offering sweeping city views and made-to-order cocktails.
Paul Montgomery, owner:
"We've taken Clancy's long legacy and built something exciting and future-facing. From the new Guinness experience at Arthur's Bar to the food offering at 1824 and a party atmosphere to raise the rooftop at Sky Bar, this is a venue where locals and visitors alike can come to enjoy great taste, storytelling and Cork hospitality at its best."

The refurbishment has created 15 new local jobs, with Group General Manager Dave Daly and Head of Food & Beverage Shane Spillane leading the relaunch. Live music will feature seven nights a week across the venues, maintaining the pub's reputation as a cornerstone of Cork's cultural life.
Having traded continuously since 1824, Clancy's holds the distinction of being one of Cork's oldest pubs. The redevelopment represents a significant investment in the city's hospitality sector, with the venue now available for private hire and bespoke group bookings across its multiple levels.
Bookings are now open via clancyscork.ie, with walk-ins welcome for those hoping to experience Cork's newest old favourite.
