All batches of Hello Kitty Apple Jelly strips are being recalled due to a potential choking risk, with retailers asked to remove the product from shelves immediately.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) issued the recall notice on Monday, 23 February 2026, under Alert Notification 2026.09. The affected product is Hello Kitty Apple Jelly strips, sold in 150g packs and manufactured in China. All batch codes and best before dates are included in the recall.

Retailers, wholesalers, distributors, and caterers are asked to remove the product from sale without delay and to display recall notices at the point of sale.

Consumers who have purchased the product are advised not to eat it.

Jelly strips and similar products have long been identified as a choking hazard, particularly for young children, due to their shape and texture. Parents and guardians are urged to check their homes for the product and dispose of it safely.
