Glenbrook Farm's Zero-Mile Feasts Nearly Sold Out as Cork on a Fork Fest Approaches
Cork's appetite for farm-fresh feasts proves unstoppable: Glenbrook's zero-mile meals almost gone!
With tickets flying faster than a hurley at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork food lovers are scrambling to secure the last remaining spots for Glenbrook Farm's unique dining experiences at this year's Cork on a Fork Fest (13-17 August).
The White's Cross farm, run by Peter and Kate Twomey, will host three special events showcasing the ultimate in local dining: meals where every single ingredient travels no more than a few metres from field to fork. These zero-mile feasts represent Cork's growing commitment to sustainable, homegrown food culture.
On Sunday, 17 August, diners can choose between a three-course Pop-Up Harvest Lunch or an elaborate five-course Farm-to-Fork Chef Collaboration Dinner. Both events will take place in the farm's atmospheric converted calf shed, with menus crafted by two of Cork's culinary stars: Pamela Kelly from the beloved Farmgate Café and Chris Braganza of The Spice Genie.
The farm-to-fork concept reaches new heights at Glenbrook, where ingredients include produce from Cork Rooftop Farm alongside the farm's own dairy, meat, fruit, vegetables and herbs. Even the pigs on the menu have a circular story: they're fed waste grain from Blarney Brewing Co, whose beers will feature at the complimentary drinks reception alongside spirits from Rebel City Distillery.
For those seeking a more casual experience, Wednesday, 13 August offers "Pig on a Spit and Craicly Stories at Glenbrook Farm". Jane Gormley of CRAICLY: The Irish Story Project will host this rustic evening, where Peter Twomey will share his sustainable farming journey over spit-roasted supper and Blarney Brewing beverages.
Now in its fourth year, Cork on a Fork Fest has grown into a major culinary celebration featuring almost 100 events across the city. From street feasts to foraging walks, cooking demonstrations to family activities, the festival highlights the farmers, producers, chefs and innovators who make Cork's food scene special.
The festival is organised by Cork City Council with support from partners including Fáilte Ireland, Pure Cork, Cork Business Association, IHF Cork Branch, MTU and Cork Airport.
