Gardaí Seize Vehicle After Fake Licence Discovered During Storm Bram Speeding Stop

Gardaí in Cork West detected multiple drivers travelling at dangerous speeds during Storm Bram today, with one motorist stopped for speeding found to be using a fake driving licence.
Cork West Roads Policing Unit reported detecting numerous motorists exceeding safe speeds this afternoon despite the severe weather conditions affecting the county.
During one traffic stop for speeding, officers discovered the driver was presenting a fraudulent driving licence. Both the fake document and the vehicle were immediately seized by Gardaí.
An investigation into the fake licence incident is now underway.
The Roads Policing Unit used the incident to remind motorists that storm conditions require extra caution on the roads. Officers emphasised the need for drivers to reduce their speed and exercise greater care to protect themselves and other road users during adverse weather.
Storm Bram has brought challenging driving conditions across Cork, with Met Éireann warnings in effect for the region.
