Gardaí Seize E-Scooter After 10-Year-Old Caught Driving On Footpath At Almost 35km/h
The scooter's max speed is 65km/h.
An e-scooter has been seized by An Garda Síochána Cork after a 10-year-old was found driving it on a footpath at approximately 35km/h, more than the legal speed limit of 20km/h.
An Garda Síochána Cork, in a statement:
"1 E-Scooter was seized as it was driving on a footpath by a 10 year old who was driving at approximately 35km/h. This E Scooter reaches a maximum speed of 65km/h."
Under Irish road traffic law, e-scooter users must be at least 16 years old, may not exceed a speed of 20km/h, and are not permitted to use footpaths. E-scooters found in breach of these rules can be seized by Gardaí.
