Gardaí Respond to Community Concerns with High-Visibility Checkpoints in Carrigaline
Gardaí in Carrigaline have issued tickets and increased visibility at problem spots following public complaints about driver behaviour.

Gardaí in Carrigaline have taken action in response to growing concerns from the public about driver behaviour in the area.

Local Garda spokesperson said:
“We heard your complaints about bad driver behaviour at different spots in Carrigaline so we conducted a number of high visibility checkpoints at peak times at the problematic estates and crossings.”
The initiative, carried out during peak travel times, saw a number of tickets issued to motorists. Gardaí have confirmed that members of the Community Policing Unit will continue these operations in the coming weeks.
As road conditions improve with the arrival of better weather, Gardaí are also appealing to children who cycle to school to prioritise safety by wearing helmets. Drivers are similarly reminded to remain cautious and considerate, particularly during school and commuting hours.
Garda spokesperson added:
“A number of tickets have been issued recently and our Community Policing members are going to continue with this initiative. As the weather gets nicer we would like to appeal to children that are cycling to school to wear helmets. We also ask drivers to be more careful on their drive to and from work.”

Gardaí say the initiative is part of an ongoing effort to improve road safety and address concerns raised by local residents.
