Gardaí Issue Travel Advice for Cork and Tipperary Supporters Heading to All-Ireland Hurling Final
Gardaí advise Cork and Tipperary fans: all toll booths open from 7am at Portlaoise. Have payment ready, allow extra time. Safe travels to Croke Park!

Cork and Tipperary supporters making the journey to tomorrow's historic All-Ireland Hurling Final at Croke Park are being urged to plan ahead, with Gardaí confirming special arrangements for the Midlink Portlaoise Toll Plaza.
The match kicks off at 3:30pm on Sunday, 20 July, marking the first ever All-Ireland final meeting between the Munster rivals. Thousands of supporters from both counties will be travelling through County Laois on their way to Dublin.
An Garda Síochána has confirmed:
"All toll booths will be open from 7am at Midlink Portlaoise Toll Plaza. Traffic volumes will be extremely high, so we're asking supporters to have their correct change or payment method ready and keep their vehicle moving efficiently through the toll."
The advice comes as both counties prepare for what promises to be one of the most anticipated finals in recent memory. Cork are chasing their 31st All-Ireland title and their first since 2005, while Tipperary are looking to lift Liam MacCarthy for the 29th time, having last won it in 2019.
An Garda Síochána added:
"Plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey. We hope it's a great day for the fans and a safe one for everyone on the roads. Safe travels and best of luck to all supporters!"
Coverage begins at 2:15pm on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player, with supporters advised to leave plenty of time for their journey to avoid disappointment.
The travel advice has been issued jointly by An Garda Síochána units in Tipperary and Cork, working with Garda College Templemore to ensure smooth traffic flow on what will be one of the busiest sporting travel days of the year.
