Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to come forward following a fatal collision involving a pedestrian and a bus on the Lower Glanmire Road.

Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to come forward following a fatal road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a bus on the Lower Glanmire Road, Cork city.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the collision, which occurred at 6:30am on Friday 2 October 2026. The pedestrian, a male in his 30s, was conveyed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

He was later pronounced deceased. The coroner has been notified. A technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators has been conducted.

Any road users who were in the Lower Glanmire Road area between 6:20am and 6:35am and who may have information are asked to contact investigating Gardaí. Anyone with camera footage (including mobile phone or dash-cam) is asked to make that footage available.
