Gardaí are urgently seeking public assistance in locating 72-year-old Gerard Kelleher, who went missing from his Castlemartyr home today and was last seen in Midleton this afternoon.
Gerard was reported missing from his home in Castlemartyr, Co. Cork, earlier today, Tuesday 23rd September 2025. He was last spotted at approximately 12:20pm in the Midleton area.
The 72-year-old is described as being approximately 5 foot 9 inches tall, of medium build, with white hair and blue eyes. When last seen, Gerard was wearing distinctive clothing: a blue checkered shirt, navy hoodie, navy tracksuit bottoms and navy runners.
Gardaí have advised that Gerard may have access to a bronze or orange Nissan Note with registration 06C1. The vehicle could be key to locating his current whereabouts.
Both Gardaí and Gerard's family have expressed significant concern for his wellbeing, prompting this urgent public appeal for information.
The missing person alert covers the East Cork area, where both Castlemartyr and Midleton are located. These neighbouring towns are well-known to locals, with Midleton serving as a busy market town and Castlemartyr being home to the renowned golf resort.
