Gardaí are appealing to the public for help in locating James Murphy, a 40-year-old man reported missing from his home in Whitegate, Co. Cork.

James was last seen in Whitegate at approximately 5am on Friday, 27 February 2026. He is described as six feet tall, of strong build, with brown hair and blue/grey eyes. It is not known what clothing he was wearing at the time.

Both Gardaí and James's family are concerned for his well-being.

Reports of two e-scooters travelling the wrong way on the N25 eastbound, on the hard shoulder, just west of the Midleton R630 exit. Riders are in dark clothing, and unlit. Take extreme care on approach.
