Garda Witness Appeal After Two Robberies in Ballincollig
Gardaí appeal for witnesses after two robberies in Ballincollig on Sunday night; a woman in her 40s has been arrested.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following two separate robberies in Ballincollig, Cork City, on Sunday evening, with a woman in her 40s subsequently arrested in connection with the incidents.
The first incident occurred at approximately 10:15pm on Sunday, 15th March 2026, when a female entered a premises in Ballincollig brandishing a suspected imitation firearm and threatened staff.
Later that same evening, Gardaí responded to a second robbery in the Ballincollig area. A female brandishing an implement threatened an individual, and a quantity of cash is reported to have been taken.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
A woman aged in her 40s was subsequently arrested in connection with the investigation. She is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in the Co. Cork area.
An imitation firearm and a number of bladed implements were recovered. The firearm is subject to ballistic analysis.
Investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí are asking anyone who was travelling in the Ballincollig area on Sunday, 15th March 2026, between 9:30pm and 10:30pm, to come forward. Road users and pedestrians who may have camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, are also asked to make that footage available.
