Garda Immigration Bureau Removes 23 Convicted Offenders to Romania
23 males removed from Ireland to Romania today by Garda Immigration Bureau following prison sentences for serious offences including sexual crimes.

Twenty-three males have been removed from Ireland following a Garda National Immigration Bureau operation on Monday, with all individuals having been serving prison sentences for serious criminal offences.
An Garda Síochána carried out the removal operation today, Monday 13th October 2025, under EU Removal and Exclusion Orders lasting 10 years. The individuals, ranging in age from their early 20s to late 40s, departed Dublin on a chartered flight bound for Romania earlier this morning.
All 23 males had been serving prison sentences in Ireland for a range of serious offences including drugs crimes, assaults, thefts, burglaries, frauds and sexual offences. Four of those removed are registered sex offenders.
The operation was conducted by the Garda National Immigration Bureau, the specialist unit responsible for immigration enforcement and deportations. The exclusion orders prevent their return to Ireland for a decade.
An Garda Síochána continues to work in close partnership with the Department of Justice to implement immigration policy and enforce removal orders for individuals who have committed criminal offences whilst in the State.
The press release did not specify which parts of Ireland the individuals had been imprisoned in or where they had committed their offences.
EU Removal Orders allow member states to deport non-EU nationals who pose a threat to public security or have been convicted of serious crimes. The 10-year exclusion period means the individuals are barred from re-entering Ireland during this time.
