Garda Drug Seizure in Cobh Area Yields €50,000 Cannabis Haul
Gardaí seized cannabis worth an estimated €50,000 and cocaine at a home in the Cobh area as part of Operation Tara. Two people arrested.
Gardaí from the Cork North East Divisional Drugs Unit have seized cannabis with an estimated value of €50,000, along with a small amount of cocaine, following a search at a home in the Cobh area.
The search was carried out on Saturday, 6 June, as part of Operation Tara, targeting drug crime in the community. Equipment used for preparing drugs was also discovered at the property.
A man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s were arrested at the scene and are currently being held at Garda stations in the Southern Region under the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
All seized substances will be sent for analysis to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).
