Free Halloween Fun Returns to Cork Public Museum
Free Halloween fun at Cork Public Museum from 21 Oct: spooky trails, crafts & storytelling.
Cork Public Museum is hosting a series of free Halloween events from 21 October to 1 November, featuring spooky trail booklets, arts and crafts sessions, and storytelling workshops for families across the city.
Cork families looking for Halloween entertainment won't need to look far this year, as Cork Public Museum announces a packed programme of free seasonal activities running throughout the final fortnight of October.
The festivities kick off on Monday, 21 October with the Spooky Objects Trail Booklet, a self-guided exploration available daily until Friday, 1 November. The free booklet encourages children and families to discover eerie artefacts from the museum's collection, turning a typical museum visit into a Halloween adventure.
On Thursday, 31 October, Halloween Day itself, the museum will host two special events. The morning session, running from 10.30am to 12.30pm, offers Halloween Arts and Crafts activities suitable for young children. Later that afternoon at 2pm, the museum presents Things that go Bump!, a spooky storytelling workshop. Booking is required for the storytelling session, with families asked to email museum@corkcity.ie to reserve their places.
Cork City Council emphasised that all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the events. The museum will also share Halloween Highlights on social media, showcasing particularly spooky objects from its collection for those unable to visit in person.
Located at Fitzgerald's Park, Cork Public Museum offers free admission year-round. The Halloween programme continues the museum's tradition of making cultural experiences accessible to all Cork families, particularly during school holiday periods.
With just a week until the events begin, families are advised to book early for the storytelling workshop to avoid disappointment.
