Fota House Creepy Crawl Trail Returns for Halloween Mid-Term Fun

Families across Cork can look forward to the return of the popular Creepy Crawl Trail at Fota House this Halloween, with five days of spooky outdoor adventures planned for the last week of October.

The beloved Halloween tradition will run from Sunday, 26 October to Thursday, 30 October, offering families a perfect half-term activity during the mid-term break. Running from 11am to 4pm each day, the self-guided trail through Fota's Arboretum and Victorian Working Garden promises an enchanting mix of storytelling, interactive performances, and seasonal fun.

This year's trail features the Haunted Fota Circus, brought to life by five performers who will guide young explorers through tales of mischief and mayhem, including an encounter with a wayward witch. The 40-minute adventure combines spooky storytelling with dance and plenty of laughs, making it ideal for children from infants right up to age 12.

Costumes are actively encouraged, so families can expect to see everything from tiny pumpkins to miniature monsters making their way through the grounds. After completing the trail, visitors can warm up in the Fota House café, which will be serving special Halloween treats to reward brave explorers.

Tickets are priced at €10 per child, with adults and children under two admitted free. Given that the event sells out quickly each year, advance booking through the Fota House website is strongly recommended.

As the trail takes place entirely outdoors, families are advised to dress warmly and wear comfortable footwear. Wellies or outdoor gear are suggested if recent weather has left the grounds wet, because there's nothing quite like squelching through autumn leaves to add to the atmosphere.

The event supports the ongoing work of the Irish Heritage Trust, the non-profit organisation responsible for caring for and restoring this treasured Cork estate. Every ticket helps fund the continued conservation of one of the county's most beloved heritage landmarks.
