Footpath Works Cause Delays in Mallow Town Centre

Motorists travelling through Mallow are facing delays this week as Cork County Council carries out essential footpath improvements at Taylors Corner on the R883, with stop-go traffic management affecting several key streets in the town centre.

The roadworks, which began yesterday and will continue until Friday, 7 November, are taking place between 7am and 7pm daily. Drivers should expect delays on West End, Emmet Street and Shortcastle Street as stop-go traffic controls remain in operation throughout the works.

Cork County Council announced the scheme on social media this afternoon, advising road users to allow extra time for journeys through the affected area. The works at Taylors Corner, a busy junction in Mallow, will require traffic management for nearly three weeks.

Motorists travelling through Mallow during morning and evening peak times are likely to experience the most significant delays, with the works affecting main routes through the town centre. Those with flexibility in their travel times may wish to avoid the area during busy periods or consider alternative routes where possible.

The footpath improvements form part of Cork County Council's ongoing maintenance programme across the county.
