Firefighters continue to tackle blaze at Midleton Skip Hire

Emergency services remain on scene at Midleton Skip Hire after a fire broke out in the early hours of this morning.

Cork County Fire Service crews responded quickly once the alarm was raised, and thick smoke is now hanging over the eastern outskirts of the town. Visibility on surrounding routes is reported to be poor.

Gardaí have closed roads approaching the facility to allow firefighters work safely, due to visibility and motorists are being asked to avoid the area and follow local diversions.

There have been no reports of injuries so far, but the incident is ongoing and further updates will follow as information becomes available.
