Fire Incident at Stryker Facility in Carrigtwohill.

Emergency services responded to a fire alarm at Stryker's production facility in the IDA Carrigtwohill Business Park shortly after 1pm today, 6 August 2025.
Cork County Fire Brigade, An Garda Síochána, and the National Ambulance Service attended the scene following reports of a machine fire inside the facility. The building was evacuated as a precautionary measure, with all staff assembling safely in the car park while fire crews investigated the incident.
Early reports indicate that a machine within the production facility caught fire, triggering the emergency response. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with today's incident.
This event comes after a recent incident at another Stryker facility in Cork, where a staff member sustained injuries. The company operates multiple sites across Cork as part of its medical technology manufacturing operations.
Fire crews have since secured the scene, and investigations into the cause of the machine fire are expected to continue.
