Fatal Collision on N20 in Bruree: Road Remains Closed as Gardaí Appeal for Witnesses

A fatal collision between a lorry and a car occurred on the N20 in Bruree, Co. Limerick during the early hours of Christmas Eve. The road remains closed between O'Rourke's Cross and Banogue while Gardaí investigate.
The collision occurred at approximately 2am this morning, 24th December 2025, on the N20 in the Bruree area, just north of Charleville. The driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the lorry, a male in his 20s, was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The scene is currently being preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The N20 road remains closed between O'Rourke's Cross and Banogue, and motorists are advised to avoid this route.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward. Anyone who was travelling on the N20 in the Bruree area between 1:40am and 2:15am this morning is asked to contact investigating Gardaí.
Road users with camera footage, including dash-cam footage, are asked to make that footage available to Gardaí.
